This had been announced by EA in a newsletter back in December 2004, but they never followed it up. Now it seems the April issue of PC Gamer will feature a full preview.

Is there just one version of PC Gamer, or are there two of them (US & UK)? I think at one point there were two... At any rate, this has $$$ on the cover.

I've really gotten to dislike C&C over the years. The interface needs a serious overhaul to cut down on the clickfest that multiplayer turns into at a high level. A bit more strategic macromanagement and a little less tactical micromanagement would be nice too. But along with Starcraft II it seems we're going to be stuck with the legacy of 15-year-old games for a while yet.

Have you seen videos of Halo Wars? That looks even worse.

It's a matter of how many units you expect the player to control, at the end of the day. I had no complaints about the controls of Red Alert 2, mainly because you weren't commanding that many units. So for this new installment it all depends on the scale of the battles...
