I was thinking that, besides ganking Guilty Gear's Instant Block, Faultless Defense, Burst or Slash Back mechanics, maybe an acceptable middle ground between being able to parry pretty much everything all the time, and not have parry at all, would be to enable parrying when a character's health is low enough. When the health bar changes hue in 3rd Strike would be a reasonable amount.
That way it'd still be possible to execute one of the sweetest, most awesome comebacks ever.
