I almost thought I ran out of space on the subject field, lol.

The way the characters are confined into the original 4:3 screen area and how the game is displayed in 16:9 widescreen is kinda lame... well, very lame.

It's a touched up conversion, which presents an expanded play area for 16:9 displays (and, possibly, balance adjustments) and many filtering modes for the sprites as novelties. How do you filter graphics that are already scaled and filtered in the original version? This is how:

I'll take the new artwork designed for the ocassion, in any case. That Rockman...

Oh, finally! I'm like a kid in a candy store around MvC2. Can't wait for this.

The way the characters are confined into the original 4:3 screen area

Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean? I noticed that it looks different, but I had attributed that to the fact I always played it on old, beat-up arcade machines.

I want to know why you would call that a lame decision. It sounds to me like Capcom's doing everything right with this port--that is to say, not doing things like "updating" the mechanics, or ignoring feedback from the competitive community.

Jack, check out the video in the first link to understand what I'm talking about.

Worm, it's not that I'm against it or anything, it's only that... well, I find having some good sixth or so of non-interactive visible screen area a tad bit jarring, much in the same way I find the additional area in the 360's Senko no Ronde Rev. X jarring, although less so thanks to how the HUD was adapted.
