Reviewing games without playing them

I've done this at least four times so far. Maybe a couple times more, but definitely four, as far as I can remember at the moment. You can take a shot at guessing them here if you wish, and I will be revealing which ones they were once I get a chance to really play them, and see how my reviews fare in the light of that experience.

Goes without saying that they are still great reviews, and better than anyone who's actually played these games has written. I am at the point now where I can probably write better reviews than most people going solely by a game's title and developer than most anyone else can write after having played the game for years. If I also have a video at my disposal, you can forget about it, and most times even a couple of screens will do.

Also goes without saying that if anyone does that here and manages to fool me long enough to get his review published on the frontpage, I'll track down your IP address and come over to your house and chop your legs off the moment I discover it -- and believe you me, I WILL eventually discover it.

If I had to take a guess I'd say Braid. The game is no more rewarding to play than it is to watch. You could learn everything about it from screenshots and videos in combination with your experience other games. Beyond that one I had certainly believed you played every other game you had reviewed because they are all such good reviews.
