So, I'll be reviewing this game next week (or perhaps earlier, if I happen to be in the right mood), and the review will be generally negative. You have until then to try to guess my reasons (or suggest your own) of why this will be so. It will be difficult. I highly doubt whether anyone who hasn't been into RTSes since the beginning and who didn't play StarCraft on release will be capable of guessing my reasons for disliking it before I reveal them.

From my review:

I wrote:You have to understand that "depth", by itself, is not an argument in favor of a game. The sewer under my apartment complex is deep too, but I would rather spend my time lounging in a sunny pool than wading into shit. Depth in such cases is in fact an argument against the game, since, given a choice between wading in a shallow or a deep pool of shit, I'd take the shallow one any time, in which at least I'd have a chance of keeping my head above the waterline. It's the same thing with difficulty in crappy games -- there's nothing more annoying and frustrating than a crappy game that has the temerity to pose an actual challenge.
