Soul Sacrifice (ソウル・サクリファイス) is a video game in development by Marvelous AQL and Japan Studio for the PlayStation Vita. The concept was created by Keiji Inafune, best known for being the co-designer on Mega Man. The core mechanic of the game is the ability to sacrifice parts of the character's body or items to create devastating attacks. These sacrifices will be permanently marked on the player character's body, meaning that they are not an infinite resource that can be tapped into.
Soul Sacrifice is played in the third-person perspective. The player character is a sorcerer that can be selected from multiple types and have various customizations. The abilities ("sacrifices") are part of this customization, which allows the game to have roles such as tank, ranged caster or melee DPS. Not much else is known at this point, but the game will feature four-player cooperative play and the ability to sacrifice party members to destroy powerful foes. The slain party members are not given the usual recognition in a game, such as experience points or loot.

Soul Sacrifice has a release date in North America and Europe. Sony will release the Vita game on April 30th in North America and May 1st in Europe.
Pre-ordering Soul Sacrifice in either territory will get you two extra costumes and three magic items—Spirits’ Flamespike, Spirits’ Blightstone and Spirits’ Fulgurwood—to use in battle. However, there’s one other pre-order bonus as well—the game’s Japanese voice-track, which you’ll receive for free by pre-ordering. Sony have plans to make this available as paid DLC at a later date.
Soul Sacrifice is a mission-based game that can be played co-operatively with other players, and if you sacrifice yourself to save your teammates, you become a ghost that can watch the battlefield, with the ability to see everyone’s stats, including those of the enemy.
