Electronic Arts president Frank Gibeau confirmed the company's intention to release a sequel during a keynote at the University of California. His comment was then Tweeted by attendees. "There is going to be a Battlefield 4", he said. Afterwards, an EA spokesperson told IGN: "Frank was speaking broadly about the Battlefield brand – a brand that EA is deeply passionate about and a fan community that EA is committed to." On the eve of Battlefield 3's launch, DICE told Eurogamer it was the Swedish studio's hope that it would one day get the opportunity to make Battlefield 4. "This feels like day one now," executive producer Patrick Bach said. "It's exciting. The whole Frostbite 2 thing has opened up a big landscape ahead of us so we can do whatever we want."[41]

EA has announced that those who pre-order the Limited Edition of Medal of Honor: Warfighter will gain early access to the Battlefield 4 beta, which is planned for the fall of 2013.[42]

Rumor translated from a Chinese forum:

http://www.chiphell.com/thread-587771-1-1.html
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=498308

Lasgana: BF4
Lasgana: Coming October 23rd, 2013
Lasgana: development just started, expected to be done in 1 yr [Nirolak's Note: Since this is the one likely to elicit the most "this is fake" notes, I feel I should elaborate. Given some later points (like already have an internal demo), this seems to refer to EA's normal two year development cycle of a one year pre-production cycle with ~30-40 people and then ballooning up to 150-300 people to make the game after most things are prototyped and planned out. Visceral, BioWare, and a fair number of publishers outside EA also operate this way since it allows you to have multiple projects without cyclical layoffs due to scaling down in pre-production and scaling up in production. For example, during the downtime between Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3, DICE's spare staff worked on making Medal of Honor's multiplayer and helping to build Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. As to what the bulk of DICE's staff worked on prior to this going into production, it's probably either a second project or, once again, other EA games.]
Lasgana: will be on pc, ps3, xbox360 and next gen consoles
Lasgana: will be one of the first games for next gen consoles
Lasgana: commander system comes back
Lasgana: profile can be linked with other devices like ipad
Lasgana: auto login, need internet all time, support cloud saves
Lasgana: easier to pickup the game, to take care of players from CoD
Lasgana: support body and voice control for this commander system
Lasgana: better battlelog integration and better stats reporting
Lasgana: supports video playback and sharing
Lasgana: have gem store for dlc and other stuff like that
Lasgana: 3 factions: russia, usa and china
Lasgana: can deploy female soliders
Lasgana: frostbite 2.0 engine
Lasgana: pc, ps4 and xbox 720 supports 64 player maps
Lasgana: 360 and ps3 will be less
Lasgana: pc, ps4 and 720 will provide 60 fps
Lasgana: already have a demo video internally within EA,
Lasgana: matching the quality of BF3 already
Lasgana: bf4 will use 80% of power of frostbite 2, wheras bf3 only 30-40%
Lasgana: modern background
Lasgana: i mean story background

Air Superiority mode has been announced for End Game, which was part of the same rumor post.

This is seemingly real.

End Game is the upcoming expansion pack for BF3.

http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/01/31/new-battlefield-game-coming-next-year

EA Labels president Frank Gibeau said EA "will be launching a Battlefield game next year” and said EA is "very excited to show you guys more detail on that coming soon."

Gibeau didn’t elaborate beyond that or mention Battlefield 4 specifically, though he did add that “we're not announcing an annualization of Battlefield at this time.”

The rumour above of a release on October 23rd this year might be the start date for the beta, if we assume that the announcement means Battlefield 4.

We'll see more Battlefield in 90 days, most likely after the new consoles are detailed: http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/battl ... _days.html

We've already talked a little bit about that we have a Battlefield title coming next year, but we're not in a position right now to talk about our development plans and our SKU plan long term.

That will come in about 90 days when we get to show you some Battlefield stuff.

It seems the Battlefield 4 site requires an Origin account before giving you access. I've uploaded the images for those who don't have one.

There's a 7th image that hasn't been unlocked, but a smaller version can still be seen on the main background under the Battlefield logo.

Battlefield 4 will see the return of the series' much-loved Commander Mode, promotional material has revealed.

Also, three playable factions will fill out multiplayer: the United States, Russia and China. Developer DICE has confirmed that the game's single-player campaign sees players control just one character.

YouTuber "luger700" filmed the promotional material direct from his local GameStop store. It reveals you can get the game's first expansion free if you drop $10 on a pre-order. The video is below, and there's more in a thread on Battlelog.

Battlefield 4 – Campaign Details Reveal: http://blogs.battlefield.com/2013/07/ba ... n-details/

The world is on the brink of chaos, China is the tinderbox and you and your squad are the inadvertent spark that could ignite a global conflict. This is Battlefield 4. As Sergeant Daniel Recker, you play as a member of an elite group of unlikely heroes known as Tombstone squad, navigating the turmoil around you as you fight to save the final hope for peace.

In Battlefield 4, you take on the role of Sergeant Daniel Recker, member of an elite group of soldiers known as Tombstone squad. While on a mission to collect intelligence from a defecting Russian General in Baku, Azerbaijan, your squad is discovered and you must fight your way through waves of Russian troops in order to escape. Upon getting back to the USS Valkyrie, a Wasp class carrier, the intelligence you’ve retrieved confirms previous suspicions. The Chinese Admiral Chang is planning a coup in China, and if this happens, the Russians would back him up.

With this intel secure, the USS Valkyrie sets a course for Shanghai. You and Tombstone squad are sent on a covert mission into the city to extract a group of VIP’s. China is in uproar after the U.S. has been implicated in the assassination of Jin Jié, the future leader and voice for peace in China. Admiral Chang has canceled elections and martial law has been declared. As U.S. and Russian naval forces position themselves off the coast of China, and the situation quickly escalates into a stare down akin to a tinderbox waiting for a spark.

In Shanghai, protestors clash with police as the streets are filled with chaos and turmoil. Tombstone manages to find the VIP’s, among them a CIA field operative known as Laszlo W. Kovic. With him is a mysterious individual that the Chinese military has been franticly searching for. Together with Kovic you fight your way out of Shanghai and back to the Valkyrie as countless civilians flee the city, many of which are brought aboard the Valkyrie as refugees. With communications dead, the Valkyrie sets course for Singapore to rendezvous with the USS Titan and the 7th US carrier group at their last known position. As you reach Singapore you are shocked to find a horrific scene of fire and mayhem. The flagship is sunk and its fleet is eradicated, and from this point on nothing is certain.

(for me [PS4 version*]).
Was chatting ingame about this last night with a friend and I/we honestly can't believe the difference since they've rolled out the new servers but it's been especially good the last couple of weeks. Night and day difference. I can actually hit guys at mid range and long range. I'm rolling in headshot ribbons now... I'm actually hitting what I'm aiming at. No hyperbole, it really feels like a completely new game for me now and I'm trying out other weapons again that I gave up on before. Especially mid range scopes, I feel like there's a point to using them now. Can't wait to try sniper rifles again.

Some matches with start with a bit of lag or rubber banding or the audio cuts out to start (still. and especially on conquest) but THIS is much closer to the fucking game we should've have at launch. Still annoyed about how much of a pain it is to play with friends and squad up (beta, ha).

All is not forgiven or forgotten but at least I feel like I'm playing Battlefield now.
If anything, the contrast shows that much more how rushed BF4 was. Unbelievable that it launched in the condition it did.
