Which game do you want to see me review next?

Unread postby icycalm » 05 Feb 2013 18:51

Pick from:

Herzog Zwei (1989)
Merchant Prince (1993)
Sid Meier's Colonization (1994)
Planescape: Torment (1999)

The list is heavy on the tactics/strategy side, because that's what I am mostly playing at the moment.

Each person can only pick one game, and you have to also provide your guess of what rating I will give it (1 to 5 plus Videogame Art, for a total of 6 possible ratings).

I'll be reviewing all these games eventually anyway, but this way you get to pick which review you are going to read right now. And to make this even more fun, I am obligated to have the review up within 48 hours of 25 people voting. If fewer than 25 people vote, I am not obligated to do jack shit. You can still keep voting past the 25 mark, but only the results from the first 25 will determine what I review.

I figured this little game will help motivate me to sit down and write more, because I haven't written shit in ages. And to make matters spicier, every time I miss a deadline I will give the first person to vote a free one-year subscription to the site. So get voting!

I should have guessed the result and provided a better mix of genres. I am just wondering whether you voted for Torment because you love WRPGs, or because you are just caught up in the omg narrative greatness hype. I am guessing the latter. Would the result have been different if I had thrown stuff like Devil May Cry or May Payne in there? Guess we'll never know!

Next game: choose the review you want to read:

Phantasmagoria (1995)
Power Stone (1999)
Pikmin (2001)
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (2002)

No need to guess the verdict this time. They are all videogame art. And indeed so were the previous choices, with the exception of Colonization (5/5 -- betcha want to read that one now lol! But that's the draw of this game: vote for it or who knows when I'll get around to reviewing it. Maybe never.)
