Me extraña mucho que no se haya hablado ya del VANGUARD PRINCESS por aquí.

Juego de lucha freeware basado en el motor Fighter Maker, realizado casi exclusivamente por Sugeno Tomoaki (ex de Capcom) Con una animación y efectos de acabado profesional pero de mecánica malograda por un control errático y unos molestos "strikers". Aún así merece la pena darle un tiento.

I'm very surprised that there isn't any talk about Vanguard Princess here already.

Freeware fighting game based on the Fighter Maker engine, developed almost exclusively by Sugeno Tomoaki (Capcom ex-employee). With animation and effects of professional finish but its mechanics ruined because of an erratic control and some annoying "strikers". Even then it's worth a dab.

Version 1.02 is out. As of this post's writing only Freem's mirror is updated, Vector is still hosting version 1.01.

According to Sugeno this is only a minor update focused on balancing the existing character roster, no additions yet. There seems to be some problems with Natalia's character in this version, so he also released a patch, more info here.

This game looks extremely lush. I'd love to give it a try if I had a PC right now -- and a stick... I'll definitely try it first chance I get. I wonder what the SRK guys think about it. Here's their thread:

The required specs, by the way, are extremely low, so I might even be able to run it on my Mac with Windows emulation.

CPU ： Pentium III 400MHz.
Memory： 128MB.
HDD： 400MB Free Space,　DirectX 7 required.

According to Sugeno, the next version is slated for release on September 30. It seems like he is buffing Haruka, Natalia and Ayane, and nerfing Kaede and Kanae.
