Unusually for a DS game, the 3D models look clean and nicely detailed. I guess the large cart size must have helped.

'tis all pre-rendered. every battle sequence/animation is built from layers of pre-rendered 3d cinematics. interesting approach, and the big reason they needed that gorilla cart to contain it all.
