Salvation, in development by Black Wing Foundation (seems they are Russian), using Valve's Source engine:

Does not seem in the least interesting, except perhaps if this is not complete baloney (emphasis is mine):

• Diverse gameplay combining the best elements of stealth, action and role-playing in a mix of totally new featured mechanics like cover-stealth, unique mix of melee and range combat and more.

Q: Source seems to be rather old hat for a project that's going to be released in 2009.
A: That statement has some grounding; however, a development team's choice of game engines depends on the specific features it's planning to put in the game, the atmosphere they're hoping to achieve and the structure of the project itself. We evaluated a few different technologies, and after taking all of these factors into account, we went with Source. We also signed an exchange program with Emergent (Gamebryo 2.3.) for one of the Salvation spin-offs we're planning to develop, as Source wouldn't be the right engine for that game. I think you get our point here.

Salvation is scheduled to be released in Q2 2009 on the PC and Xbox 360.

And a really amateurish cutscene trailer:

Trailer 1 US (74 MB)

This game has fail written all over it.

Hmm. So we have "Damnation" [ > ] which looks pretty damn good so far, and "Salvation" which looks just sloppy. What a lovely coincidence. (I love the "flaming corpses" picture that looks like it was ripped straight from Half-Life 2's Ravenholm level. Come to think of it, almost all those screenshots look like Half-Life 2 environments.)

Edit: And the last screenshot has a Big Daddy look-alike from Bioschlock. Yeah, "sloppy" doesn't even begin to describe it.

The game was initially known as Salvation and it was being developed using the Source Engine for PC and Xbox 360. A teaser trailer of this version was released in 2008.[1] On October 2009 it was announced that a publisher has been found and the game was reintroduced as Scivelation, running on the Unreal Engine 3 and being developed for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

We all knew the end was coming... but when it finally did, the world wasn't prepared. Good and Evil became more than just ideas. They became the banners we fought under, that we lived and loved and died under. We always assumed there would be a victor - that the light would conquer the darkness or that we would die trying. No one ever predicted they would annihilate each other... but they did. And the world was left in ruin. From those ashes rose the Regime, a world government hell-bent on taking control of every last human life.

Their aim is power, and they will corrupt and exploit every living soul to meet that end. But not all will fall in line - there are those who would resist, refuse with their dying breath to synchronize their steps with those of tyranny and authority. They are known as the resistance. They are the old believers cast out of Paradise, the ones who still see value in freedom and life. And their time is coming. They bide their hours stockpiling weapons and training hard for the day when they will rise anew...

…For soon, it shall be upon us.

In Scivelation, the fate of a dystopian society unfolds through the eyes of two playable characters:

Mikhael Ivanov:
a captain in the GRN, Mikhail is a decorated veteran from the War of Tribulation. Due to injuries sustained in battle, much of Mikhail’s body is made up of Zionetric implants, enhancing his combative abilities and enabling him to perform at a level much higher than an ordinary soldier.

... and Elisha Amano:
Former Regime geneticist whom defected to the Resistance to justify long-standing guilt over her work on the Ascension Program’s Omega Sequence; a project which aimed at creating a genetic panacea to cure human mortality, but was instead used by the Regime for applications of a much darker nature. Elisha not only brings her brilliant scientific mind to aid the Resistance, but also her research…
