Remember Craftopia [ > ]? Anime Rust, came out last year. ysignal bought it at some point, but hasn't played it. None of us have. So we don't know how it turned out. To be honest it didn't look very promising, mostly just a mishmash with cute (and unique for the genre) art style. That's why I haven't bothered with it.
Well this is the same game, just more ambitious. Anime Rust again, but more focused on kingdom-building and "domination", so maybe it's an actual FP4X instead of just another survival-builder.

The art style is not as good as in proper J-anime games, but it's still very strong for the genre. Mostly the character design is a bit meh, the rest looks pretty cool, and there are mechs and dragons and stuff you rarely see in the genre, and at cool scale.
I am intrigued by the planets in the video. Does that mean you go to space? To other planets?

Look at this:
"Expand your Empire" tells me it might be FP4X.
Also, "Villagers spawn in your stronghold" tells me it might have the thralls from Conan Exiles, so that you can have armies without needing armies of PLAYERS. That would be fantastic. Five-ten players commanding hundreds or even thousands of NPCs is exactly how these games should be made. No one wants to be cannon fodder, so you can have NPCs for that.
The barracks tells me my suspicion is correct. The "Void infection at night time" and the "Keep your villagers alive" tells me they've done a good job with PVE—which is a major failing in most of these games, and especially the best ones. Rust, LiF et al. could use some strong PVE. Hell Starbase looks like it has zero.
Above details sound good. Just need to find how big the servers get in terms of above all population size, but also map size.
2021.
P.S. Did you catch the flying ships lol?
