It's a Civ clone. My initial reaction was "Can't be much worse than Humankind", but on closer inspection... it might be. The art is crap, graphics are meh, CGI trailer is annoying though typical for the genre. Still worse than other 4X games' trailers though. The only cool thing I see about it is that you can see people walking around as in SimCity. That's certainly new for the genre. Though I suppose they aren't actually walking since it's turn-based? They're just standing there?
All in all, not excited at all, though it's good that Civ is getting more competition these days. This one gives me Civ: Call to Power vibes. I played both Call to Power games back in the late-'90s/early-2000s, and they were decent Civ clones. Each one lasted me a few days, and they were fun variations on the base Civ mechanics, but shallower, ergo they lasted less. That's the exact same vibe I am getting from this. If you've played the recent Civs and Humankind, and want more, this will probably occupy you for a few days, couple weeks max. But probably no more than that.
They seem to be focusing on microsimulation elements like "microflora" and "cloud shadows". And while these mostly graphical enhancements are of course welcome, that's not the focus of a 4X game, especially when you don't seem to be bringing anything new to the table, and even your art and graphics don't look very good.
