From the trailer, it doesn't look like an overhead ARPG like the original Dark Alliance games. It looks like a third-person slasher/shooter, like "Dark Souls" I guess. But maybe the trailer shows the action zoomed-in for dramatic effect?
Apart from that, yes the models are all high-fidelity, but the environments shown seem to me very generic and a far cry from the variety seen in the Dark Alliance games,
D&D: Heroes, and any diablolike worth its salt, and of course Diablo itself. And of course if it REALLY is a zoomed-in third-person action game, then it's going up against even more cool-looking games than overhead ARPGs. I've been waiting for the play footage for a long time, as the only thing we had before was the CG reveal trailer, and I must say I am disappointed. Unless much better footage is shown at some point, I doubt I'd even bother to play this, especially since there are so many superior four-player games to play these days, all of which would take precedence.
An interesting tidbit is that the game's official YT channel has delisted the CG reveal trailer. It's still there, but you need to have a direct link to the video to view it. Here it is (I had it in the Most Wanted trailer reel, and now replaced it with the new trailer):
Official Announcement Trailer | Dungeons & Dragons
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pYJNY2lsWkAs you can see, this trailer is far superior, both the snowy environment and the heavy metal aesthetic. I was expecting MUCH more from the play footage than what we saw today.
