This had been leaked and then teased for the last few weeks, and none of the images coming out of those leaks and teases had seemed attractive to me, so I wasn't paying attention. But the above episode that just dropped makes the thing look fantastic, and now I am definitely buying both versions when they come out, I think it is later today. I expect it to be priced around $50, maybe $60 or $70 tops, and there should be a 2-pack with a discount, which I'll get.
Keep in mind that new vehicles are typically OP until they get nerfed months later, plus most people won't have them because most people don't spend cash, which will make the ships even MORE OP. So we should definitely utilize however many we end up buying. If you aren't collecting LTIs like me, you can always melt older purchases and buy one or two of these with the store credit.
This is the original teased image, which made the ship look crap for me, which is why I wasn't originally interested:

This is a newer image that makes it look cool:

And this is the badass missile version with the armored cockpit:

Here you can see it in white rotating on a turntable, it looks fantastic from all angles: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/co ... _turntable

With us being... not so good in dogfights, imagine if 7 of us launched on 7 of the missile versions, I think they have 20 missiles each. 140 fucking missiles should kill anything in the air that bothers us, and then we land them back at the Carrack and take back off with our Arrows or Gladiuses. That's definitely a tactic we'll try once the Furys are in the in-game shops and we can buy a bunch of them with aUEC.
The shot we've been waiting for, the Fury swarm launching from an Idris. See pic descriptions for details

I counted 34 in the video, not all are showing in this shot, and the clip may not have shown all of them launching

That's 3 in a Carrack
And we can probably fit 2 or 3 on the landing pad, so 5-6 in all per Carrack. Blows the fuck out my previous plan to land 3 Arrows on the pad.

14 in a Herc! FOURTEEN

I feel like it'd be better to run 2 hercs with 7 each so you have the capacity to carry spare ammo and missiles.
Or better yet, get 6 or 8 in an a2 to take out some ground emplacements.
Lots of possibilities, I love it

If the capitals are retreating because the fight is going poorly and they can't afford to lose more of the fleet, you sound the alarm for fighters to come back. You start jump preparations.
If the TIEs make it back: "Good on you buddy! You went to fight in the cheapest and most replaceable ship AND made it back? *Pats back* Maybe you will get a medal for this!"
*Jump preparations are complete*
If the TIEs don't make it back: "Sucks to suck, time to jump!"

So anything between 10 and 20 in our 2 A2s. Do you see now why I say it doesn't matter how much money you spend on this game? The budget for what can be bought in it just keeps rising. They released ONE new ship, and a tiny one at that, and suddenly we could use... 20 of them. And note we don't need 20 players to fly them, you can just keep respawning in the Carrack and going out with more and more waves of ships. It's just a matter of how many FPS gear sets and snubs and Carracks you've brought along.
The massive glass canopy should be a treat to eventually experience in VR.
They are saying it's more maneuverable than the Arrow. So now this is the most maneuverable combat ship.
I'd like to know what the counter to it is.
