Cult Games Switzerland (aka Michael Ghelfi Studios) just signed a deal with Paizo (sorry I mean Cult Games Redmond) to score all their Adventure Paths! New AND old ones! For Starfinder too!
We work with Paizo.

Notice that he's making a dig at Syrinscape [ > ] in the video lol.
This is incredible news, but there's a catch too. These guys are great for ambient sounds and music, we've already used them beneath the Senate in War for the Crown, but for THEME music which needs to be much stronger and better AS MUSIC, they aren't very good. To see what I mean, check the Season of Ghosts [ > ] theme they just released: https://downloads.paizo.com/mgs/01_Season_of_Ghosts.mp3
It has no recognizable structure, you can't hum it or even remember it at all, so it's not a theme at all, it's just... a soundtrack. Just music meant to merely accompany rather than lead. So there's no way I can use this as main theme for the Season of Ghosts campaign. I'll just go with the Ghost of Tsushima theme, or something else I may find in the future, and I'll still use the official theme in the campaign somewhere, just not as theme.
The dude Paizo should have partnered with for the THEMES is Travis Savoie. That guy rocks all kinds of awesome, a true master composer, equally as good at real music and soundtracks.

Unfortunately he does D&D soundtracks, so Wizards will snag him up I am sure when they get around to copying THIS aspect of Paizo's strategy, as they copy everything Paizo does with a 1-2 year lag. And I am glad for that, because it means Paizo is elevating Wizards' game, but the best adventures are made by Paizo, and it's a damn shame they won't have the best themes.
Well, in MY world, they will. But not in anyone else's, and that's a major fail for Paizo.
Still, it's hard to believe that finally all major new campaigns will be getting full official soundtracks. This brings us a mere step away from all new campaigns getting official TaleSpire assets lol. In this at least, Wizards seems to be ahead of Paizo, since that's what their upcoming VTT [ > ] is meant to deliver. But Paizo just said in their blog announcement of the Ghelfi deal that they don't intend to stop here, and have more news to announce. A TaleSpire deal would be the best news videogames have had since Cult Games' founding, but it's probably too early for that.
It's coming though. And when it arrives, CRPGs are finished (at least for anyone with higher than 120 IQ). And good riddance.
