When the UEE pulled Invictus back to Sol, DefenseCon didn't wait for orders, it stepped up. That's right, bigger, bolder, and more bodacious than ever, the ultimate expo is here and loaded with the manufacturers you trust. Set your own rules, find your edge, and defend your little corner of the black, no matter what's thrown at you.

Great show this year. The best convention I have seen in the four years I've been following the game. It was the first time it felt like a real convention because usually they have only 2-3 new vehicles, maybe 4 at most?, and one of them used to be a jpeg. This time they had 7, with at least one new vehicle for almost every stage of the show, and some stages they had more. And on top of that, all the vehicles were great, which is actually unrealistic because real shows have duds too. But this is a game, and it makes no sense to purposefully add duds to it, so it's okay.
Not hard to pick best in show if you count jpegs: it's the Odin. Without the Odin it would be hard to pick a winner: the Ironclad and M80 are equally awesome, but in different categories. The Pitbull is a worthy competitor to the Fury, and even the Tiburon ended up being good. I was very sceptical about that and expected a cheap Hammerhead variant, but it has its own external identity while preserving the series' shark theme, it has its own tactical niche, and reportedly the interiors of both ships have received a major upgrade. And finally the Starlite filled a gaping hole in the refueling profession now that the first missions for it have arrived. The awesome manufacturer-branded Virgil flight suits are the icing, but I wish they had been offered in a pack as with previous convention pack deals. Not sure why they are showcasing them on the floor when there doesn't seem to be a way to buy them either out-of- or in-game?
Oh yeah, and 11 new Nightbreak paints that pushed me over the edge to declare the Nightbreak the Standard Cult Spec Paint.
Twenty-two hours from now the show will be over, so make sure you're done with your purchases before that. There will also be some final sales waves for capital ships. All details in the link below.

So, for the final two days, every manufacturer returns to the show floor. Every ship. Every weapon. Every damn reason to keep this party going. Don't miss it.
