From PTU 4.3.2 10388608 Patch Notes (wave 1):

Frontier Fighters Finale is a limited time event where players complete missions for one of the two factions. The faction with the most contributed points acquired through completing missions will be declared the winner of this event.

  • Week 1: The Search Is On

Week 1 features two mission archetypes that can an be done by either faction.

Eliminate Specific + Delivery
In this mission, the player is tasked with Eliminating a high ranking member of the Frontier Fighters, collecting a datapad from the body, and then delivering the datapad to a specified location.

Missing Person + Delivery
In this mission, the player is tasked with finding a dead member of the supported faction, taking a datapad they attempted to extract, and then delivering the datapad to a specified location.

  • Week 2: Pressure

Week 2 features two mission archetypes that can be done by either faction.
Week 1 missions are still available to play once the Week 2 missions unlock.

Ship Ambush
In this mission, the player is tasked with ambushing Frontier Fighters.

Destroy Regen Locations
In this mission, the player is tasked with going to a medical location and destroying Frontier Fighters medical storage canisters.

  • Week 3: Apprehend the Suspect

Week 3 features one mission. This mission can be done by either faction.
Week 1 and 2 missions are still available to play once the Week 3 missions unlock.

Hunt the Polaris
This mission is of the existing archetype “Hunt the Polaris”. This is a multistage mission where players must work together to chase down and destroy a Frontier Fighters Polaris. This is a server-wide mission, meaning that players share the same mission instance. There are two versions of this mission, one for each faction.

Heads-up for recoil so he can start thinking about which faction he wants to back. It'll be a limited time event that takes three weeks to complete. There should be some kind of account-bound reward, so we're waiting to see it.

This must be one of the 6 event rewards, 3 for each side. I've seen a couple of the others, both outfits, and they're very cool too. CIG is constantly upping their reward game.

Mask and gloves in addition to all the rest is a lot of items for merely 1/6 rewards. They're really packing these things.

The CfP isn't holding back either, this is top tier stuff. But notice the pics are all in Stanton. I still haven't been able to ascertain exactly where the event takes place. It looks like Stanton is a certainty, and maybe also Pyro, or maybe just Stanton. So I might have to move the thread to the Stanton subforum and take over. We'll see. Launch is almost certainly tomorrow (Thursday) evening.

No trailer this time. Many players including me were hugely disappointed because these trailers are incredible and almost TV-show-worthy. First time this has happened since we started playing three years ago. It must be the new monthly update cadence + CitCon. I am sure we'll get an awesome trailer with Nyx next month.

So this event is weird. According to reports, you can do it in both Pyro and Stanton. Not sure if you're required to do it in both or you can choose between them. But it seems that the location doesn't matter.

Either way, this entire plotline is about Pyro, so I'll leave this event for recoil.

That said, CIG has confirmed that prior gang affiliation doesn't impact this event, and regardless of who you side with it won't impact your affiliation after the event either. So your gang rep is separate from this event. They haven't said what the winning gang gets either. They showed us OUR rewards, but not the winning GANG's, like they told us in advance for Resource Drive what the winning corp would get.

Nevertheless, we'll make it more interesting for ourselves by committing even AFTER the event to whichever gang recoil chooses to support during it. In the last Pyro event, Supply or Die, he allied us with CfP [ > ]. So he can either choose to continue with them, or switch to the Headhunters. We're awaiting your orders, SupCom.

The Stakes of Frontier Fighters Finale

Unread postby icycalm » 17 Oct 2025 20:01

This is how CIG puts the stakes of this fight: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spec ... -frontiers

Nicou-CIG @Nicou-CIG wrote:While the fight for Pyro has left its mark, the dust now settles and one question remains: who will shape Pyro's future in 2956?

I think this is the question recoil should focus on for making his choice. The rewards for both factions are great and since unlike Fight for Pyro they're allowing us to pursue both, any player can get all of them without using alts. That said, any character/clone stationed in Pyro will have to prioritize recoil's choice. But I think his choice should be made based mostly if not solely on the lore this time. That's just a suggestion though. Let us know what to do, recoil.

Allying with the Headhunters

Unread postby recoil » 17 Oct 2025 23:02

We will be allying with the Headhunters to keep Pyro lawless and chaotic. The CfP are trying to settle a dying star which is a fool's errand. Our illegal operations are far more important than prosperity. Think of the plunder, thrills and adventures we could have in a lawless Pyro. We’ve got enough commies at Nyx, let’s keep Pyro for the pirates!

Intel is currently scarce and I'm entrusting the entire Stanton side of the operation to Supreme Commander shubn. Once we receive further intel, I will evaluate it and issue further orders.

There's really nothing spoilery here as CIG has already outlined the phases. Maybe a bit more detail in the kinds of contracts offered, etc.

Anyone confirm if doing the siege missions without doing the recon ones gets you the phase 2 reward?

I haven't done the recon ones but it will let me do the siege so I'm wondering if I can just skip phase 1?

GoodPerformance9345 wrote:Yes you can just skip them. Nothing happens to the recon missions. You just won't get the recon rewards if you don't complete it.

The first of these missions we did was me with Adjudicator's recruit, Itanji, while everyone else was taking on the yormandis in Dark Territory #6.

Image

We did one Eliminate Target mission for HH (the medium one for 75 points) and shared it with the other team too and everyone got the points (though since I was playing with clone 1, icycalm got nothing :( It was just go to bunker, retrieve datapad (from corpse I think), and deliver it to LEO. Then the guy left because he didn't care about the events and rewards, and I logged off because my icycalm account was bugged so wouldn't gain any points no matter what I did with the clone, and then the other team finished the yormandis and started the event, as seen in the videos above. They only played a couple hours because they'd already been playing Dark Territory #6 for 8 hours by then.

Since then, pretty much everyone plus a bunch of clones have finished more or less both sides of Phase 1, except me, because I didn't have the time. Finally I played an hour earlier this week and went over to Pyro to try the event over there (while everyone else had done Stanton) because I haven't seen much of Pyro since it launched. And all the missions over there take place in asteroid bases (except the first for CfP that's in a settlement). So first try, I go with my Cutlass and get shredded by the base turrets. Second try I go with the Cutlass and a Nox, and fly the Nox to the base (so that the turrets don't bother me), but explode on the landing pad because I landed too hard... But it turns out you don't need the bike if you're willing to EVA for 5 mins or something. I'll try that next time. But the main issue is that from Ruin to the asteroid base it's halfway across the system and the jump takes ages, and then you have to return the datapad to Ruin. I don't even know if the Cutlass can do the roundtrip without refueling. Maybe just. So I don't know, maybe I'll spread my points between both systems. Or maybe I'll dig in and just do the whole event in Pyro. We'll see. I've set aside time to do them next week.

The most efficient way would have been if we'd all met on a Saturday and split off into say three duos, sharing all the missions. Apparently you can finish both sides of the event in a couple of hours this way. It might sound like cheesing, but I don't see it that way because, given this is a gang war, it makes sense to me that a larger group of people will be able to get more done faster than a solo guy, and in my mind the way the game simulates this is by the extra progress when many teams share points. Obviously there must be many better ways to do this than by taking advantage of the primitive sharing mechanics, but for the time being I am good with what we have.

Anyway I look forward to spending time in the asteroid bases while finishing Phase 1. I'll add commentary for Phase 1 if I have anything to say after I am done with it, and everyone else should do the same if they think of something.

Phase 3 - Take Down

Unread postby recoil » 08 Nov 2025 05:08

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spec ... le/8396285

We'll be playing a big session this weekend to try and finish Phase 3 for as many people as possible because it's the Polaris takedown and solos might struggle. Everything has already been arranged at Cult Command and all the Commanders will be present.

FLEET
recoil: Pirate Supreme Commander (Meridian Stinger)

ysignal: Pirate Master Chief (Skullcrusher Scorpius w/ Lesath Missile Turret)

Adjudicator: Pirate Inquisitor (Sharkmouth Idris-M)
Adjudicator's clone: Pirate Inquisitor (Solar Winds Gladius)

shubn: Pirate Inquisitor (Solar Winds Gladius)
shubn's clone: Pirate Inquisitor (Solar Winds Gladius)

icycalm: Pirate Inquisitor (Nightbreak MPUV Tractor, Ironside ATLS)

It'll be a pirate op regardless of where we run it (and note it's not clear if it's offered in both systems) because it's the conclusion of a Pyro storyline, so it's my neck of the woods. If we end up running it in Stanton, I will have authorization to enter to complete the mission, wherever it takes place.

Any more players want to join will need the new Pirate Spec that's based on the Star Kitten Sally armor that can only be bought from the Subscribers' Store, but icy got 4 of them, so just get one of his if you don't have it. The Solar Winds Gladius will be the ship for Inquisitors, but again, we have plenty of those to give out to people who don't have them (and if we run out you can always join in a Buccaneer). So just gather as many of the other items in your spec as you can (backpack, multi-tool, etc.) and ask in voice for the armor and the Gladius. And btw the armor is identical with the silver Inquisitor so all you need from icy is the helmet.

Whoever can't make it this weekend and wants to complete this phase we'll be sure to help next week to complete it, so no worries if you can't make it. We just want to get as many people over the line as possible, and then we'll deal with the rest.

See you soon.
