Hard to believe a mere couple of weeks ago I thought of the M as a distant prospect, something to aim for in the years ahead, and now we have two. And we'd have had three if shubn hadn't fallen on hard times and wasn't poor now. But at least he got the poor man's Idris, the Idris-Poor. Not as good as the Idris-Money, but it's better than nothing. And don't worry shubn, you know we don't like poors but we've been playing together since children so we won't kick you out just yet. Hang in there buddy, life is tough.

So when life gives you lemons you make lemonade. By which I mean there might be an upside to shubn's unfortunate situation if we just but look for it. To give an example of what I mean, these days I have to take a lot of public transport in Barcelona and I end up going up and down huge escalators in the metro and the airport. At the same time I've been wanting to add cardio to my workouts for months now but just haven't had the time for it. So what occurred to me is to simply forego the escalators and just take the stairs. That alone is a decent cardio workout. And then to make it tougher later I just sprint up. Which also turns the 20 kg pack I carry all day into a fitness instrument. And then to progress further I can just take the escalator down and run up again every single staircase as many times as I want. So I end up basically feeling buff wherever I arrive at any destination all day long. And all this without adding anything to my weekly schedule. It's really kind of genius and it ONLY works for poors because a normal person would just drive and wouldn't go anywhere near an escalator.

So how does this apply to shubn's unfortunate situation that we're trying to mitigate? Well first of all the P has a rear turret that the M lacks. So the P can bring up the rear of our convoys and armadas. And then the P has more cargo space. The Idris is the safest way to carry cargo in the game currently, and if you want to carry more than the M can, you need a P. So first off we can load the P rearguard with supplies for the armada (and with support vehicles like medical etc.?), and also if we're operating an Idris like a logistical platform for mining or hauling for example, we should use the P for its larger cargo capacity. So I want to see the P used for these purposes over the M whenever possible and we can say in Cult Lore that shubn's Noble House chose to purchase it for this reason, because they are doing more contractor work than the other two houses. And btw I think CIG expects to sell double Idrises to the biggest whales precisely for this reason: Adjudicator has already implied above that he wants to buy also a P at some point, which I applaud.

So now our capital fleet looks like this:

3x Idris (1xP, 2xM)
4x Polaris
3x Pioneer
2x 890 Jump

Super happy also for the second 890J, and do the same as Adjudicator, ysignal, and buy the Meridian paint and park it at Ruin or wherever recoil tells you. He should have his cap ship available often now, and even two of them at the same time sometimes if he wants. Excellent stuff.

We have a truly formidable cap fleet now, and it should motivate us to recruit more players so we can someday fly all of them at the same time. Talk to your friends and acquaintances and try to get them to join us. Cult Friends play for free, remember (normal games, not Battlegrounds ofc). And of course keep trying to recruit in-game.

What lies ahead for cap ship releases and acquisitions? First the Pioneer will come probably early next year, and we are all good on that front. The next one isn't even in production yet so we shouldn't expect anything for a couple of years. Unless... the Javelin releases with Squadron 42. You see they've already given tours of the Javelin during past Invictuses—not the entire ship, just parts of it, and moreover players have been able to steal it and fly it before (I think I even posted a video of this somewhere). So if it's in the campaign, it could drop simultaneously with the game's release sometime next year. Now if this happens we have a pretty cool option to secure one without F5 Wars: we can melt a Praetorian Pack and grab an Aegis Complete Pack which costs 2/3rds of the price but includes a Javelin. This way we get one instantly the moment the Javelin's release is announced. Though we lose a Pioneer with land claim, so it's not a perfect deal, but if there's no other way to get a Javelin at launch, I would advise on doing it. Otherwise it's $2,700 cash which will probably get near $3.5k at release so if anyone is thinking of cashbuying it you'll probably get 2-3 chances at least before Squadron drops, so plan ahead. And remember: it's the Cult Supreme Commander's flagship, so if you want to command an entire solar system when you grow up, you need one.

Anything other than a Javelin on the horizon? I think the Kraken (and Kraken Privateer) is the other possibility because they've said that they plan to use the Ironclad assets for it, and the Ironclad is coming this year. So we're looking at two years minimum for the Kraken. If the Javelin doesn't drop with Squadron, then the Kraken will be the next cap warship to drop. Plenty of time for us to grab one until then, though note that when it goes into production its F5 Wars will suddenly become much harder to win. That said, this is a much cheaper ship than the Javelin at just $1,400 for the base and $1,700 for the Privateer, so it should be easier to grab with cash. Though note the base is for the Pirate Emperor—me—while the Privateer is for the Contractor Supreme Commander, so the latter is what you want (that said we could always use multiples of everything so go ahead and grab base Krakens too if you want so you can fly me around in them, you just won't be able to command them).

In sum, I am really proud of us and what we have accomplished here. Everyone now, both inside the game and outside, will know we are richer than them, and therefore better people. And that's the whole point of the metaverse genre after all.

Now let's get into the game and fly our new ships and show everyone how rich we are!

Kraken & Kraken Privateer Enter Pre-production!

Kraken concept

So this happened in June: the Krakens are finally being made! Here's all we know about the progress so far:

Kraken under fire

I don't see it arriving inside 1.5 years, and it could easily take 2, so it's not at all urgent for us to get one. That said, they might speed up the process by putting more people on it once the Ironclad is out, and it's using its kit too, so that might further speed things up. So we could conceivably see it in a bit less than a year and a half. And between now and then there will probably be 5-6 chances to buy one at most. Apparently it has always sold out during sales, but now that it's being made it should be worse. So the sooner we start thinking about it, the better. Keep also in mind that the price will rise dramatically on release, as did the Idris's, which climbed by $200-400 (cash/credit). Currently the prices are:

Kraken: $1,650 credit/$1,400 cash
Kraken Privateer: $2,000 credit/$1,700 cash

I expect to see the Kraken reach at least $1,700 cash and the Privateer at least $2,000 after release, so securing both earlier could save us nearly a grand.

The Privateer by the way features commerce stores for illicit goods, probably in exchange for weaker combat stats. I've given both to the Pirate Supreme Commander and he can switch between them based on his needs, just like I've given both Idrises to the regular Commander and Pirate Commander. Regarding the Contractors, they will have the Banu Merchantman, which is a flying mall, so no need for them to get the Privateer as I had originally planned.

Image
Kraken Privateer landed

That said, the Spec is fluid, so don't make purchase decisions based on it. Buy what you want to have in your web hangar. And if you buy something, I guarantee that you will get to use it. If you're thinking, "But I am not a Pirate SupCom", trust me, you will be if you want to: the verse will be huge. Plus recoil will always need you to fly him around in any Krakens you buy, right out the gate.

So if you have any Kraken-purchase plans, let us know here especially so we can coordinate if possible to get both versions. That said, if there are two people who want the same version, just go for it and don't worry about it. These things cost a lot of money and the important thing is for the buyer to grab the one he will enjoy the most.

shubn Kraken & Kraken Conversion Kit

Unread postby shubn » 16 Sep 2025 15:17

I'll probably try and get a Kraken this IAE.

There is a Kraken Conversion Kit you can buy if you own a Kraken to turn it into a Kraken Privateer. Supposedly, if you apply the kit, you should be able to melt it and buy the base Kraken back if you change your mind, and so buying the base Kraken is the smarter option, unless you know for sure that the Privateer is the one you want and it's the only one you manage to get during the F5 Wars.

Fantastic, keep us posted. I'll make a point from now on of posting limited hull sales windows in this thread when they pop up. It's a great motivator.

It's the first Kraken that is the important one. I just don't want it to come out without us having one and feeling left out. Once we have the first, any more are a bonus. And if we can use the conversion kit to keep switching between the variants, it's even better. Though I suspect if it really works this way, they might patch it at some point. I know this is how gear works, but I can't see them allowing it for cap ships.

Giftable Idris-Ms

trolumbi wrote:pay for the praetorian pack, get 2042 referrals or try to snipe a rare giftable one on the grey market.

So there are giftable Idris-Ms but they're rare. Star Hangar doesn't have any right now, and neither does the Impound, but they do list one as sold out:

Idris M - Original Concept LTI
https://theimpound.com/collections/buy- ... oncept-lti

$4,000 but it's Original Concept which are always more expensive. Not sure if there exist non-OC ones.

Impound has told me that they often have stock that's not listed on their site, and to email them if I want something I don't see listed. So that's something to be tried if anyone wants one. And I guess you can search for more on the SC trades subreddit, but then you have to be very careful about not getting scammed. I suspect that if you asked Impound, they would get one for you from there and then charge something extra, which would be a faster, safer way to do it.

So anyway, I thought I'd post this here as an option because I wasn't aware that giftable Ms existed.

Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2955 Stock-Limited Waves

Freyja Vanadis @Freyja-CIG wrote:Will there be quantity stock-limited ships?
Yes! Each stock-limited ship is limited to one per account and will be available in six waves to cover as many global time zones as possible. Please note that depending on your time zone, some waves may occur the next calendar day.

Wave 1 - 16:00 UTC
Wave 2 - 20:00 UTC
Wave 3 - 00:00 UTC
Wave 4 - 04:00 UTC (the following day)
Wave 5 - 08:00 UTC (the following day)
Wave 6 - 12:00 UTC (the following day)

Starting on Nov 20 (IAE Day 1): RSI Constellation Phoenix
Starting on Nov 21 (IAE Day 2): Origin 890 Jump
Starting on Nov 22 (IAE Day 3): Drake Kraken, Drake Kraken Privateer
Starting on Nov 24 (IAE Day 5): MISC Hull E
Starting on Nov 26 (IAE Day 7): Consolidated Outland Pioneer
Starting on Nov 28 (IAE Day 9): Aegis Idris-P, Aegis Javelin

Early waves are tough to get, but the later ones are feasible, especially if 1) You're buying with cash (Warbond), and/or 2) You've added the ship to your cart from an earlier wave. But by wave 4 or 5 you should have at least a few minutes to just show up and grab whatever you want. I've also heard that BETWEEN waves it's sometimes possible to randomly find stock when people's credit card charges get rejected.

We really need a detailed guide to the F5 Wars. I saved some ages ago but still haven't got round to posting them.

Let us know if anyone grabs anything.

We need to discuss this! We have two of these packs!

So if I understand it correctly, you lose all the knick-knacks in exchange for a bunch of capitals??? That sounds like the deal of the century! I mean I love knick-knacks, but if we can get a couple Krakens in exchange, plus Javelins that might be coming out next year with Squadron, it's a no-brainer. The only "knick-knack" that might have functional value is the Pioneer land claim. Is that still in the new pack? If so I would advise Adjudicator and ysignal to melt the old and buy the new asap. If not, they should probably do it anyway, because:

RevealHoliday7735 wrote:Does this change current pack holders?

Can you melt and rebuy if it's different?

Dapper-Scratch7661 wrote:No the pack you buy stays like that forever. Yes you can melt and rebuy.

So, ASSUMING THIS GUY IS RIGHT (could be wrong), you can switch between the packs forever? Or just one time?

Give me your thoughts if you have any. Two Kraken Privateers for Adjudicator and ysignal plus one base Kraken if shubn buys one would be an awesome boon for us, not to speak of two Javelins on order. But it seems there's no hurry because the new pack isn't going anywhere, unless they change it further soon, and for the worse (i.e. removing something cool), which doesn't seem like something they would do.

Some comments from the thread to get us thinking:

SmoothOperator89 wrote:If I had managed to amass $15,000 in store credit on standalone ships, I would get this. The inclusion of an Idris-M and LTI Pioneer are big standouts. I like that they've replaced the large number of low-value "filler ships" with large and capital ships. There are just enough small ships to facilitate a few solo options while not being a bunch of variants that would never get used. Possibly a good deal for someone who has bought their store credit at a discount from "refunders" on the grey market.

The small ships you lose mean nothing to us. We have loads, and we can easily get more in-game. We can't get capitals in-game (or if we can, from e.g. Wikelo, the grind is insane, and they can get wiped).

Specialist_Ad_5482 wrote:It's super cool bc you are getting two idrises (idris-p for javelin), so finally we can play with a friend.

lol

Late-Explanation-466 wrote:They also removed the land claim lol.

Not cool but prolly not a deal-breaker. I can't imagine having a free land claim can be a bigger boon than a Kraken and a Javelin! Besides, you can still buy these claims from the grey market for a decent price, as long as you buy before the Pioneer arrives (at which point their price will explode). E.g.:

UEE Land Claim License Estate Parcel (8x8 km) $899.99
https://star-hangar.com/37133-1686630146.html

Image

More info on land claims here: https://starcitizen.tools/Land_Claim

Star Citizen Wiki wrote:SIZES

There are currently two area sizes that can be claimed with a claim beacon:
  • Plot: an area of 16 km² (4 x 4 km, 1600 hectares), claimed with a Geotack
  • Estate: an area of 64 km² (8 x 8 km, 6400 hectares, 4 plots), claimed with Geotack-X

And btw the new pack includes an F8C so you could melt it if you have it and use the credit to buy some of the smaller ships that got removed.

Terrific, so here's our cap fleet now:

3x Idris (2xM, 1xP)
1x Kraken
4x Polaris
3x Pioneer
2x 890 Jump

And the updated Praetorian Pack means we could have up to 2x Kraken Privateers and 2x Javelins at a moment's notice with no need for F5 Wars.

As good of a cap fleet as anyone could hope for.

Anvil Odin

Unread postby icycalm » 20 Apr 2026 17:22

It has been confirmed by CIG that the last concept ship will be a battleship/battlecruiser called Anvil Odin and will be unveiled next month at Invictus. People are speculating about size, specs and price, and below I attach a Reddit post that summarizes the info we currently have, and the best speculation.

The reason I am making this post, and in this thread specifically, is to see if anyone's interested in cashbuying this, and to give my advice on the matter. Of course I would like one in our fleet, but this isn't reaching flyable state anytime in the next couple of years. Earliest it could come is somewhere between two-three years from now, whereas the Kraken and Kraken Privateer are in production right now and will likely be flyable by next year's Invictus, so about exactly one year from now. And we only have one of those currently, shubn's base Kraken. So a second Kraken, perhaps a Privateer one so we can have both versions, would get at least a year if not 2+ years of play from us before we got our hands on the Odin. That said... who knows what the Odin loaner(s) will be? Maybe it'll be a Kraken, in which case grabbing an Odin now will give us the absolute best of both worlds. We'll find out what the loaner situation is like next month.

Regarding our overall capital ship acquisition strategy, if you want to know what our next priority is, it is a Kraken, and ideally a Kraken Privateer. We have more than enough Polarises, Idrises, and Pioneers, and even 890Js. We're only missing a Javelin, as far as warships go, but this can be easily rectified by melting either of our Praetorian Packs and putting the credits in an Aegis Complete Pack, which would preserve our Idris-Ms and add a Javelin on top. In fact we could have two Javelins if we melted both our packs. We would lose our 890Js this way, but they're easy enough to earn in the game, and Javelins are worth way more to us. We would also lose two of our three Pioneers. But melting only one pack gives us a Javelin while preserving two of our Pioneers.

But perhaps even more usefully, the new version of the Praetorian Pack that we can easily get by melting one or both of our current ones contains both a Javelin and a Kraken Privateer, and would get us up to TWO Javelins and THREE Krakens overall if we wanted, though it would lose us a bunch of rare items including the Pioneer land parcels, which we have no idea currently how useful they'd be.

In other words we have several options for Javelins, up to two of them if we want, so I am not worried about that ship and would therefore much prefer an Odin than a Javelin as our next purchase. But even more immediately I would prefer a Kraken Privateer to ensure we own at least one of every kind of warship capital in the game.

For reference, here's our current capital fleet, with the Kraken at the top because it will be the largest ship in the game once it arrives next year:

1x Kraken
3x Idris (2xM, 1xP)
4x Polaris
3x Pioneer
2x 890 Jump

Either way, if you have any thoughts on the matter at any time, let us know in this thread. I am sure we're all dying to get our hands on this even if only in jpeg form, and I am bummed we don't yet have a pic to attach to this post. I can't wait to see what it looks like next month! It will probably also have some cool exclusive capabilities to differentiate it from the rest, apart from sheer size, capacity and firepower.

P.S. "Final concept ship" doesn't mean final ship, or final large ship. It means the last ship they will sell in jpeg form. All future ships will go straight to flyable and won't be sold in advance, that's all. No more jpegs after this!

Star Citizen: Anvil Odin Battlecruiser Confirmed for ILW 2026

Hey everyone, just wanted to share what's been confirmed about the Anvil Odin while finishing my monthly quota of search...

CIG has officially added it to the Galactapedia and updated the Anvil Aerospace documentation, so this is now confirmed to be coming at Invictus Launch Week 2026 (May).

What We Know So Far

Confirmation: The Odin was added to the Galactapedia on April 17, 2026, along with an update to Anvil Aerospace's documentation. Jared Huckaby personally confirmed the name. This ship has been part of the stretch goals since the original crowdfunding campaign.

Class: Battlecruiser. Based on lore and comparisons, it's positioned between the Idris frigate and larger capitals like the Bengal (carrier) or Retribution (dreadnought). Designed for modern naval warfare and large-scale engagements. It will also work with the new combat mechanics from patches 4.0+ (in-flight resupply/rearming).

Size: No official dimensions yet, but community estimates place it around 700-750 meters long (between Javelin at ~480m and Bengal at ~990m). This would make it one of the largest playable ships.

Lore: Follows Anvil's tradition of Norse mythology naming (Valkyrie, Asgard, etc.) Odin is the supreme god, so it fits as their most powerful warship. There's an Odin star system already in the lore, so this creates an intentional connection.

Release & Availability

This is tied to a 10+ year stretch goal. CIG has indicated this may be their final concept ship to be sold. Expect a limited-time concept sale during ILW 2026.

Last year ILW showed the Idris frigate. This year the Odin is expected to be the headline announcement.

Community Discussion Points

  • Exact Class: Battlecruiser is the consensus, though some speculate alternate classification

  • Combat Power: Expected to outclass a single Javelin, possibly equal to 3-4 combined

  • Civilian Access: Uncertain for non-UEE Navy players

  • Squadron 42: Could play a narrative role like the Javelin

What's Still Unknown
