In the first stream, I try to play online matches. I go through crashes, matchmaking blunders, Training mode and Story mode at difficulty 3 for the first time. In the second, I play Story mode on difficulty 3 and 5. I learn to play on difficulty 5 for the toughest challenge.

The game really shatters expectations in the amount of fan service crammed in the character roster, music, sound effects and graphics. Mechanically, it doesn't stray too far from the previous three games and the '90s era of games before assists and tag battles became a thing. It may not be an innovative battle system, but it's fun and is coupled with rollback netcode that works reasonably well. In summary, I came for the waifus and stayed for the classic KOF fighting experience properly updated for the HD era.

The Shun'ei and Isla designs rock. Isla is new, and I thought Shun'ei was too, but he was actually introduced in the last game, which I haven't seen much about, that's why I wasn't aware of him.

These are fantastic character designs. No one would fight dressed like that, but that's why this is KOF.

The idea came in my head that you could import these models into TaleSpire, and then I got to thinking of how you would write a KOF adventure lol. So many possibilities.

I looked for the game on G2A and it's not there at all. Very strange. I'll be on the lookout for a deal. I generally suck at KOF because I can barely remember one character's moveset, let alone three, but I will give it another try with this game, it looks great. Some of the animations look smoother and more detailed to me than those in the latest Guilty Gears.
