Refueling

Just realized that refueling, even in the air, is already in the game. It was added in 3.17, so very recently. All the details about the mechanics are here:

We need either a Starfarer at 6,651,500 aUEC or a Starfarer Gemini at 6,191,500 aUEC. So we won't be getting one of these any time soon. Nice to know the mechanic is in the game though. I imagine if we have a LARGE force of say 5-10 Arrows, we can bring a Starfarer along to keep them flying without having to land for fuel every five minutes. Could probably even leave the ship unattended in space, above a moon say, and keep going back for refills if you're running operations around a given location.

There is another concept ship that is stated during its reveal in February 2018 to be able to refuel, rearm and perform some repair jobs on ships, alongside with doing basic salvage work, but not as effective or as quickly as the larger, specialised and focused ships: the Aegis Vulcan.

I believe this multipurpose ship was in development for so long because the in-flight repair and salvage mechanics are heavily intertwined and will only be introduced in 3.18.

Those who pledge for this vehicle get a MISC Starfarer dedicated refueler as a loaner ship.

This is one of the vehicles I am keeping my eye on in IAE 2952.

Lol that was a fun trailer

The shot of the statue at Maria Pure of Hearts Hospital with the "make money" is SO fitting for the Hurston family.

In fact refueling was 3.17's headline feature when it launched back in April, check out this very cool trailer for it. Love the way they added the rap track and the editing. So many features were added in that update. I can't wait for the next update and the next trailer. I'll slowly go back and watch all the trailers and report on them in the forum one by one. If I had seen all this stuff I would have gotten into the game far earlier.
