Exclusive Furniture

This thread is for furniture not purchasable in the verse. There are quite a few of those, mostly available in the Subscribers Store, and the roster is increasing almost every month because a good portion of the new sub items are furniture or large decorative items like statues etc.

Salvaged Skull Containers

So here's the story with these. They first appeared last year during Pirate Week but were only available in a $660 "Scourge of the Stars" pack with the 4 Skullcrusher ships. No other way to get them, and I was crushed because I couldn't afford the pack. I was low-key praying that shubn would pick them up so we could get the boxes and give them to recoil for Pyro HQ, but he didn't bite. And understandably so, because to add insult to injury, the pack didn't even come with LTI! It was a very bad deal on top of the annoyance of being forced to spend $660 for a $10 item. And it was Warbond! They were asking for fresh cash for a bundle without even LTI!

The RSI page was here: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pled ... ck-Warbond

Lots of threads on Reddit and Spectrum complained about all aspects of this crap deal, but no response from CIG. Here's one meme about it:

I was hoping they would improve the deal due to the backlash, and even better offer the boxes separately, but no dice. Here's one of the tamer threads from the time, just asking for LTI as opposed to trashing CIG like most other threads on the subject:

Any possibility to get Scourge pack with LTI?

I honestly wasn't expecting to see those boxes ever again, but when Pirate Week hit this year I was super excited to seem them featured in a $60 paints pack [ > ] plus a $30 pack with a couple of armors thrown in.

Pirate Week Treasure Pack $30.40

I didn't want the armors as they're included in other, larger and more cost-efficient packs, but I bought the pack anyway for the boxes, and was glad to be able to do so given their $660 pricetag from last year.

But then the treasure hunt was solved and the reward was... these boxes! So I melted the pack with the two armors. I would certainly like another set of these boxes, but I thought best to wait next year in case they bundle them with something I actually want. At any rate having one set of them made me at ease with the idea of their existence, because for the past year I've been feeling like a poorfag who wants these damn boxes but can't afford their $660 pricetag.

Plus, due to my two clones and the treasure hunt, I now remembered I have three sets in all so I could give recoil one or even two of them! And shubn has two or three, and if Adjudicator has entered the code for all his clones we'll basically have infinite. Just sent him a DM in case he missed my notification on Discord last week. And hopefully more people logged into RSI and entered the code, so we should be able to stock our Pirate HQs (we have two now, Ruin and Grim HEX, and we should have also Levski soon, plus up to two more in Pyro if recoil appoints Commanders for Checkmate and Orbituary) with stacks upon stacks of these cool containers.

So CIG was listening to the outcry last year, and they more than made good this year. I wasn't even expecting to buy them cheap, and they ended up giving them out for free essentially, as long as you are active enough in the game to know that Pirate Week is running and follow the treasure hunt on Reddit. And if you weren't that active, well, you can still buy them for cheap during Pirate Week, and if you missed even that you'll at least be able to source them from the grey market until next year.

TL;DR players who acquire these boxes in any way are free to use them in their hangars as long as you're based in a pirate location, and/or give them to our Pirate Commanders and SupComs to make their HQs look and function cooler if you don't plan to put too much effort into decorating your own hangar.

The deadline is the 15th, so you have about a day to get it done, if you wish.

It's not the kind of thing we could use multiples of, so I didn't bother doing it with my clones.

lol at some of the comments in that Reddit thread:

rausrh wrote:"How new to Star Citizen are you?

Very new (started in the last few months)
Somewhat new (started 3 to 6 months ago)
Intermediate (started 6 months to a year ago)
Veteran (Been playing for a year or more)"

Just a little bit limited in range.

Next they should have a question that asks how much you've spent, $1-$10, $11-$12, and $13+.

It just feels like they don't value the people who've been here for a decade or more. I mean, if someone's been here 10 years, through all the changes, you'd think CIG would want to know the feedback of that specific demographic.

I've spent 13+ dollars!

Bosco Weapon Display Rack

This was teased a few weeks ago [ > ] and we all thought it would have something to do with crafting or base-building or the new Nyx I missions coming in 4.11. The coolest speculation I had heard was that it'd be a weapons repair/upgrade bench. That would have been awesome. It ended up being a mere furniture sub item, which is disappointing because it has nothing to with all the cool upcoming features, but on the other hand in itself it's an incredibly cool item that even Rust took a decade to add into the game (and Rust's is also a DLC btw). So I am not too miffed about it. We know that weapon degradation and repair are coming because they've said so for years and they just unveiled a rover with a weapon repair function, so it's all good, and I just bought the rack and will be logging in tonight to add it to my hangar.

Should you buy it?

If you really want to, why not? It's only about a tenner, depending on your location, and it will really make your hangar come together as a kind of base. I wouldn't put rare items on it if I were you because you might lose them to bugs, but you could put on in-game-bought guns and gear, for example from the Inquisitor Spec if you use it a lot, and they can be within easy reach when you're in a hurry, instead of having to look through your vast inventory.

You could even buy several of them and build an arsenal if you don't mind the cost! The sky's the limit, really: you could display every gun in the game as in a museum if you wanted lol. For several hundred dollars, and that's without the gun cost.

Or you can save your money and wait until an equivalent item becomes available or craftable in-game. Probably in different colors, maybe even in cooler ones. That's how they've been rolling with "exclusives" recently, so probably this rack will follow that policy.

But I don't mind spending a tenner to have it RIGHT NOW, so that's what I did.

P.S. It's a sub item, so if you aren't subbed, ask someone to send it to you who is.

multiple_iterations wrote:This is actually useful for swapping out loadouts, and makes me hyped for suit lockers. Storage is convenient to store ammo/medpens/Cruz/etc. Pistol stands also hold multi-tools, which is awesome.

multiple_iterations wrote:Gun rack for three long guns, four sidearms. The pistol racks take multi-tools also, the long gun racks won't take a MaxLift, so I think they're guns-only. There's a little storage bin on the left where you can drop your inventory while swapping stuff out.

kst8er wrote:Just be careful who you group with. I had a box setup in my personal hangar for this purpose, was doing some PUG TSG runs when it came out from the r/sc Discord, and someone went into my hangar while we were in transit to the site and cleaned out my and one other guy's personal hangars for the decorations and things we had set up at Levski.

I remember some rando from the group still being back in Levski while we were doing the trench runs, and one of the times I died in the trench and went back I noticed it was cleared out.

Strange-Scarcity wrote:Always lie about where you home out of and if you are doing things with randos? Always put your home hangar stuff away. It sucks, but until more social tools and the ability to "LOCK" things in place? Gotta be careful.

I will put my stuff in one of my two freight elevator grids (you get two if you have L or XL hangar), so it will be easy to just send it down and hide them when needed.

Parking-Confidence72 wrote:On placing a rifle on the rack a light at the top comes on and lights up the weapons. Each rifle slot (and pistol slot) also has a light that is red when empty and green when a rifle or weapon is placed on it.

The pistol storage section enables placement of medguns and multi-tools as well as pistols (doesn't allow placement of knives). It also tilts to the 45-degree angle when you approach it.

There is a drawer on the left that enables you to store ammo.

As far as flair goes this is one of the best I've seen to date. It's a little pricey (if like me you want to build multiple loadouts to speed up org activities and therefore want several).

I placed mine in the alcoves of my hangar and I haven't had any issues with them jumping around after initial placement. I have loaded them up with guns and they were all still there after a relog to switch servers.

I have no doubt that any jetwash from flying a ship near them will launch them everywhere but with just one individual near them they should be good to remain where they are placed (I did notice some very slight movement when both a friend and I stood up close to the same rack).

All his concerns about jitter or the displays flying away can be solved by placing them in the freight elevator grid, then nothing moves. However, it looks to me that once you have placed them, you can't use that elevator again because if you send it down, it puts everything in storage, and then you have to rearrange it again. Correct me if I am wrong, but that's what I am seeing. So, once you have set everything out, you should forget about using that elevator as elevator again, and if you need to add something, you have to draw it out of your other elevator and move it all the way across the hangar. I think it's workable but it takes a little dedication.
