New event leaked, and we only have the name. What puzzles me is that the upcoming InterSec mission pack [ > ] already has so much Vanduul fighting that I am not sure what more an event centered around them would offer. Unless it's just a reskin of the usual collection, transport, defense etc. event grind. A more tantalizing possibility is a fully-custom new event utilizing the new planet tech technologies plus fabrication to the full, but I just don't think they have the free staff for that yet. It's prolly just another grindy event to launch alongside the new planet just to maximize engagement until they free up the staff for a real new event. And I am cool with that. We should be playing it in December.

Oh and I forgot, what seems like the event rewards have also been leaked, though with no photos yet. What has me excited is that the theme is camo and I've been planning a new Frontier Spec that will be camo-based for Nyx and future frontier planets. And as with the current event, RSI Discovery Month, the rewards are extensive! They include even vehicle components AND a camo flight suit! It's the Master Chief one though, and it'd be better for us if it was the Inquisitor one, however our current Inquisitor is brown so quite a good fit for the Frontier Spec already. Plus Corbel and Palatino versions with backpacks. So even if the event ends up boring, the rewards will be anything but.

P.S. The leakers speculate this might be bundle material, but it's too much to be a bundle while it's just about right to be rewards. It's rewards, and even the "raider" theme sounds like it fits the "Incursion" in the event's name.

I had an epiphany. The new InterSec mission pack [ > ] IS the Vanduul Incursion event! Nothing else makes sense, the missions sound exactly what you'd expect of a Vanduul incursion. But to avoid completely spoiling the surprise, they're presenting them as a mere mission pack because they have to test them in PTU so no way to completely hide them. They just did this with the "IASI" event in PTU that turned into RSI Discovery Month in Live. They even had a Pico in PTU standing in for I think it was a Constellation model kit in Live.

So I think this event is coming with 4.11 sometime after IAE, and IAE is coming with... nothing beyond the show itself and new vehicles.

One mark against my theory is that they've already announced that the new InterSec missions come with BPs. Up to now, event rewards have either been items or BPs, but never both. Recently however they seem to have realized that BPs as event rewards result in much lower event participation (because the events lately have been grindy so people only do them for the permanent items instead of the wipeable BPs). So if they're saying BPs, it means regular missions, and if items it means event. However they HAVE switched between the two during PTU, so they could very well be planning this here to throw us off while testing the new items (presumably the BPs handed out during PTU will be of the eventual event reward items). Or they could be planning to offer both items and BPs this time.

At any rate, they just announced a possible 4.11 Wave 1 PTU for this weekend, so they seem to be on track to releasing 4.11 with IAE, which would explain the lack of a 4.10.3 and associated event. That's the timeline I hoping for.
