I try to avoid browsing it randomly unless I want something specific, because I always end up feeling like everything is a great deal and I need to buy everything lol.

This is the absolute cheapest way to get an XL hangar in the game unless you have a CCU chain to it already or don't mind spending a couple years building one up.

Of course we still don't know if you can upgrade your hangar by buying a ship in the game, which will be the cheapest method if enabled. But with ship prices going up in 3.23... you might have to work your ass off for months for that hangar. And then 4.0 will wipe it out anyway, and you'll have to do it all over again.

Or you can be friends with shubn, and he just hands you the credits. That works for me.

So yeah, an entire market for the Best In Show paints just collapsed. It's the biggest news this IAE. The reaction is overwhelmingly positive. But there are some dissenters too.

Honestly, one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with this game was the thrill of collecting the rare things, the forgotten pieces of Star Citizen's early history. There was something special about owning items that existed only because we believed in this project long before it had wings. I always imagined that someday I'd build a kind of museum where the old relics, the discontinued ships and the once unseen items could be displayed as proof of how far this universe has come. But as more and more of those early backer rewards get rereleased or handed out again it's hard not to feel like those pieces of history are slowly being diluted. I'm truly happy to see the game grow but it's tough watching the things meant to represent our loyalty and long-term support get dispersed for funding cycles or promotional pushes. Collectors like us never wanted exclusivity out of greed, we take pride in being part of this from the beginning and that pride plays a huge role in the joy of having something to show for our long time backing. o7

This post is all over the place. He got into SC because of the rare stuff? Who does that? And the rare stuff is "proof" of "how far this universe has come"? In what way lol? A meaningless trinket is proof of the game's progress? Utter nonsense. The one point he DOES have is the museum of rarities he wanted to build. That would have been sort-of cool, but not nearly as cool as the use that players will make out of all these rare items. We can build specialized fleets and loadouts out of them, and these will have much more meaning in-game than his museum that only makes sense out-of-game (it makes fuck-all sense for a random white paint to be in a museum in-game as if the entire verse has run out of white paint lol).

I'm expecting to see... Talus, Carbon liveries, Nightrunner, The Special Origin one, Icarus, Stormfire and all the event ones, the Dunlevy paint, the alternative Eclipse paint... The UEE Storm paint... I mean if CIG is really looking to crash the grey and black markets and make everything available to all players regardless of time spent backing the game, throw the workbench, UEE towel, all the fish bowls, the armor, the wreath etc. Throw it all online. There is really no legitimate reason to not sell it now. Sell it... Sell it all.

I only posted this whiny post for the record of ultrarare stuff it contains. Handy note.

For the record, I lost about a hundred bucks or so I paid extra for a 2949 BIS Reclaimer. I WANTED to buy a lot more, but I just couldn't afford to. I would have spent 5-6k at least on these paints over the last couple of years if I could have afforded to. And now I got all of them for like 150 bucks lol.

shubn lost about a couple hundred bucks on a 2950 BIS Cutlass. I remember urging him to buy more, and really glad now he didn't.

THAT SAID, that's still not all the BIS items, because there are schematics, challenge coins, posters, etc. To get THOSE you still have to buy the ships/CCUs from the grey market, though now that prices are collapsing it will be cheaper than before, but still not cheap in absolute terms because you still have to pay for the ships' value these items normally come bundled with: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/co ... nt/nrep38w

I'd also like to add, the other rewards (jackets, posters etc.) are remaining exclusive too, so there is still a reward for being a supporter of a winning ship at the time.

As someone who technically just lost a ton of money on the Eclipse 2950 paint I guess; this is a very good thing.

Mmhh of course it's nice for newer players, but I kinda liked that "had to be there" rarity of older stuff.

We're still in that phase tbh. It'll be 2050 and the kids will think we're hot shit in the verse because we've got old drip.

I totally get why they don't, but I wish they came with the decorations so I could melt my BIS ships without losing them. I feel like I pigeonholed myself with them so I can't change up and try new ships.

Yep this year warbonds were limited to 1 per account they are clearly trying to kill the grey market which is good.

CIG looked at Valve with CS2 and said "Yeah, we have some of that".

Scalpers are cancer and deprive the game developers AND the players off of money and content.

I've heard about this but not sure exactly what happened. It was recent too, so maybe CIG did copy it.
