GodDAMN. I just
have to have this, and NAOUW. It almost beats the Scorpius as the coolest space jet in all of FICTION, not just games.

CIG very deliberately makes the advertisement videos reflect how real-world car companies do things.

MrAngryBeards wrote:Amazing ship but the pricetag shocked me a bit. I was expecting it to go for just under 200. Amazing ship though, and great intro video.
Juneau_33 wrote:Heavy fighters are always in that price range, majority of people had expected 300. Shiv is an outlier in that regard.
Robot_Spartan wrote:They're actually not. Scorpius is 240, Hurricane is 210, Ares 250, Guardian 250.
Only the F8C is 300. The Harbinger is 290, although technically "justifies" the jump over the 260 Warden with the larger turret and 3 torpedoes.
Juneau_33 wrote:Ok then add on Origin luxury tax onto that price!
Robot_Spartan wrote:100% it's the luxury tax. Just like the F8C is the SQ42 tax.
I would say that maybe heavy fighters are going up in price, but the Scorpius remained at 240 for DefenseCon.
Only thing I am not too thrilled about is the interior. I'd have preferred a pure fighter. But that's not Origin's style. Their first priority is looks, so nailed. Next is comfort, ergo the interior. And only then comes performance. If you want pure performance buy from a military firm like a Scorpius. So I am cool with the interior due to the lore.
I have no idea where I'll place it in the Spec. I'll think about it when I pick my jaw off the floor. It will be a strategic rank for sure tho. My initial thought is give it to Commanders to replace their Wolf which I can then push onto a specialist like the Assassin.

-Reverence- wrote:While that would be unfortunate, the 890J is also a yacht lol. It'd be absurd for Jeff Bezos' mega yacht to have an F-35 landing pad to VTOL off of.
ResponsibleRub469 wrote:Actually the F35 is quite small. A helicopter, specially luxury ones may be bigger. It's a matter of you know, a civilian cannot own an F35 rather than they not fitting in a yacht.
nondescriptzombie wrote:We sold a shit ton of them to saudi arabia, and their air force is basically just rich kids playing soldier...
-Reverence- wrote:I don't mean the size would be absurd, I'm just pointing out that it's absurd to have a cutting edge fighter on a civilian mega yacht lol. Like yeah there could be pirates or whatever but it's still a strange thing to have in your garage.
I would expect to have something like a shuttle etc.
ResponsibleRub469 wrote:Are you comparing Star Citizen to real life? You know if you kill someone in real life there are severe consequences, if real life worked like Star Citizen you would definitely see millionaires with fighter jets in their yachts.
GodwinW wrote:It's strange now, but in the SC verse as it looks to be now with private citizens printing weapons and later ships themselves it makes perfect sense.
