The IKTI RAD? Let's just say ASD Facilities hold secrets worth digging for.

ATLS IKTI Akuma

Unread postby icycalm » 26 Sep 2026 17:38

Turns out the IKTI AKUMA that released in the Nine Tails Shogun Pack isn't a straight IKTI upgrade as hyped/trashed on Reddit, it's sidegrade. So we'll want a mix of different IKTIs for complex ops. I am fine with that, and it's better for balance, and should also stop people from crying about P2W too much.

We have 3 AKUMAs as of now, which should be plenty for any type of mission especially now that we know we'll need a mix of IKTI types so we can bring more along, so study the stats and start thinking about IKTI mixes for various types of ops.

The new $75 Akuma isn't just a straight upgrade to the base IKTI. It trades core armor for explosive shells and completely changes how you fight. Here is a quick visual breakdown.

Here are the highlights:

  • The base IKTI wins in a straight DPS race with a massive 750 RPM rate of fire.
  • The Akuma dominates alpha damage, packing 28 damage per shot plus 12 points of splash damage to hit grouped targets or near-misses.
  • The Akuma gives you 3x the boost fuel letting you stay airborne much longer but it's set up for quick travel across flat surfaces.
  • The Akuma trades core protection, with only 15% reduction vs the IKTI's 30%. Meaning your core is way more exposed while your limbs get 50% reduction.

The base IKTI is better for focused damage. The Akuma is a niche ambush or defensive tool, and like other vehicles I would typically recommend waiting to buy it or unlock it in game. But it does have its niche, and if you want to support CIG by making a pledge the vehicle has its role.

IKTI vs. GEO IKTI

Unread postby icycalm » 08 Oct 2026 11:02

I was wondering if the GEO IKTI is a straight upgrade to the IKTI, in which case I should really remove the latter from the Spec. Below is Grok's response, and Gemini also says pretty much the same. My question was "In what ways is the IKTI superior to the GEO IKTI?"

Grok wrote:The standard ATLS IKTI is lighter and simpler, but it does not beat the GEO IKTI in combat capability. Its advantages are narrow.

The standard ATLS IKTI is only better in a few practical, non-combat ways. Its guns and described protection match the GEO IKTI; it does not outfight it.

Lower mass. Wiki and game-data listings put the ATLS IKTI at about 1,800 kg and the ATLS GEO IKTI at about 2,436 kg. The GEO version carries the jump-pack structure from the mining chassis, so it is the heavier suit. That usually means a bit less ground inertia and a less sluggish feel on foot, though both are still slow power suits (GEO IKTI walk/sprint figures in one data set are only about 7.2/10.4 km/h).

Cheaper to obtain. Current Wikelo recipes both start from a normal ATLS and want apex valakkar fangs plus NN-13 cannons, but the GEO IKTI ("Make jumpy ATLS shoot") also needs 36 SCU of quantainium. The plain IKTI ("Make ATLS shoot") does not. Older recipes were stricter and sometimes asked for both a GEO and an IKTI; the quantainium line is the main extra cost now.

Lower claim cost. Listed expedite fees are about 1,020 aUEC for the IKTI versus about 1,520 aUEC for the GEO IKTI.

No forced aerial exposure. The IKTI cannot jump the way the GEO IKTI can. Some players treat that as a downside only, but in a firefight a high jump also makes you an easier target. Staying low is the only mobility "advantage", and it is situational.

Weapons are the same locked pair of size-1 CF-117 Bulldog Repeaters (same listed pilot DPS around 282 and sustained DPS around 100 on both). Armor is described the same way: cage plus viewshield against small arms. There is no firepower or protection edge for the non-jumping suit.

So the IKTI wins on weight, crafting cost, and insurance cost. For actual fighting, the GEO IKTI's jump jets are the meaningful upgrade.

The cost and claim advantages are meaningless to us. The only real advantage for the base IKTI is less inertia. So the base is faster on the ground while the GEO better for the air or rough terrain. Hence I will keep both on the Spec and let the leaders decide what to bring in each operation. Inquisitor players should ideally own both.
